Terms of Service - Family HQ

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Family HQ ("the Service"), operated at myhqfamily.com, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

Family HQ is a household management platform that helps families coordinate grocery lists, meal planning, recipes, calendars, messaging, requests, polls, spending tracking, and more. The Service is provided as a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) product with free and paid tiers.

3. Accounts

You must create an account to use the Service. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. Family account owners are responsible for managing member access within their family workspace. You must be at least 13 years old to create an account, or have parental consent.

4. Billing and Payments

Paid plans are billed monthly at $4.99/month via Stripe. Optional storage add-ons are available at additional cost. You may cancel your subscription at any time through the billing portal. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. No refunds are provided for partial months.

5. User Content

You retain ownership of all content you create or upload to the Service (lists, messages, photos, documents, recipes, etc.). By using the Service, you grant us a limited license to store, process, and display your content solely for the purpose of providing the Service to you and your family members.

Anonymized, aggregated pricing data from receipts may be included in our community price database. No personal identifiers are associated with this data.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other users' data
Upload malicious content or attempt to compromise the Service
Resell or redistribute the Service without permission
Use automated tools to scrape or extract data from the Service

7. Third-Party Integrations

The Service integrates with third-party services including Google (Calendar, Drive, Sign-In), Stripe (payments), Anthropic Claude (AI features), and optional self-hosted services (Nextcloud, Immich). Your use of these integrations is subject to their respective terms of service and privacy policies.

8. Service Availability

We strive to maintain high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. The Service may be temporarily unavailable for maintenance or updates. We are not liable for any loss resulting from service interruptions.

9. Limitation of Liability

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Family HQ shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service.

10. Account Termination

You may delete your account at any time. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms. Upon account deletion, your data will be permanently removed within 30 days.

11. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms. We will notify users of material changes via email.
